Based in Corsica, Frédéric De Lapaillonne devotes his work to an intense pictorial quest in which the human figure occupies a central place. Through his oil portraits, he powerfully and sensitively captures the duality of existence: vitality and fragility, presence and mystery.

His search for embodiment does not stop at the body. Fascinated by the memory of objects, he transposes this energy to the bodies of 1970s American cars, transforming these metal surfaces into veritable imprints of life. The sheet metal becomes skin, bearing within it the traces of time and the stories buried beneath the material.
